mmmmm mmmmmm!

it was yummy! nice and semi-dry on the inside, crisp on top. no gooey runniness in the middle, more like reheated pasta…my favorite. and no orange grease squirting out like cafeteria macaroni. eric liked it, too. i made a half recipe and eric and i, together, could only eat half of what i made. it was just your basic mac and cheese recipe, nothing fancy, nice and cheap.

oh, let me say that i have recovered from my aversion to spaghetti. i now eat it with no sauce, garlic, salt, and fresh parmesean, etc. potatoes are nice, too with massive amounts of fat-free sour cream and baco-bits. 🙂 but i still don’t like boxed macaroni. it gives me the blue box blues.

mmmmm!

i just made macaroni and cheese! and no, it’s not the blue box please. *mine* smells so yummy! i don’t think i could eat the boxed stuff again. i ate too much of it growing up, along with spaghetti, and microwaved potatoes.

i’ll say how it tased after dinner.

work, work, work…

Well, today was my second day of full-time work. The company I started working for is called Distance Learning, Inc. It’s a small company (less than 50 full-time employees.) They call my position ‘Help desk technician” but I’m more like a Junior Network Admin. Helpdesk usually involves helping people with problems with their internet connection or email and the like, but what I do is more like make sure the servers are running properly, doing backups, suggesting new ideas, updating software, and other maintenance tasks. It takes me about an hour (walking and on the subway) to get to work. Like most people, I wish there were more hours in the day. I also wish more places were open before 8 or after 5 or 6, ’cause I work all during that time. Anyway… I’m tired and getting ready to retire. Good night all.

not much

well, not much has been happening these last few days. eric got a full-time job, which is nice. i’m still submitting my resume to various places.

ohmagoodness..i am so ready for the seasons to finally change! i mean, it’s really pretty with the green, leafy trees, but there’s nothing better than looking at those nice trees, with orange leaves, or no leaves for that matter, while wearing a sweater and coat. i’m giddy with the thought of it actually being below 65 degrees. shoot, i’d even take 70 degrees. i love sweaters…and coats…and pants…and shoes and boots and scarves and mittens and hot chocolate and cappuccino and mashed potatoes and gravy and pumkin pie and egg nog and rain and snow and etc etc etc…

speaking of boots and sweaters, i need to get some of those for jabba. it gets so cold that even dogs have to wear sweaters. i’m so excited! these shoes are super cute! they’re like little chucks for a dog!. these boots are cute in black, but may be a bit too much for just dog shoes. this sweater is just to freaking adorable! this coat is so cute! but this coat has got to be the best! jabba will be stylin’. oh, the “i love ny” sweatshirt would look super cute on him, too. then even more people would come up to us and tell us that he looks just like the ‘men in black’ dog. anyhoo…i know…i’m crazy.

maybe a sweater would make him happy. i think he’s a bit peeved at us for putting him on a low-cal food, but he’s getting a bit pudgy. but not as pudgy as mickey. 😉 hehe

gotta run!

two days. two broadway shows.

Spamalot was really funny, first of all. I wasn’t really expecting to see it so soon (yesterday actually), but my cousins Mike and Matt managed to get some scalped tickets from some guy on the street (and luckily, they were legit tiks.) Thanks guys! We finally got all of our boxes from California this week–about 50 of them in all. Even though our new place is over twice the size of our last one, we’re still having trouble finding places for all of our stuff. It’s kind of sad, that, even though we’ve been here for about a month and a half and we’re still living out of boxes. I can’t wait until everything is put away and we have a regular routine. Things are still pretty hectic around here, but we’re trying to find some sense of normalcy. I heard back from the place that gave me the job offer and I’m going to be going in on Monday to sign contracts and do all that stuff. Everybody stayed up late last night, so (most of) us slept in pretty late today and took it easy. Today was also the last day that la familia was here, so we said our farewells and wish them a safe trip back. goodnite all.

yeah! pictures!

okey dokey…here are some misc pictures from the last couple days with corresponding comments, of course…

park arch

this is just a plain ‘ol picture of one of the many arches in central park.

lennon

here we have the lennon memorial located at strawberry fields in central park. the atmosphere was really peaceful there. people seemed to talk in hushed, respectful tones and there were groups of people sitting on the grass playing the guitar and singing. it was really cool. 🙂

fountain

this is a fountain in central park (obviously) and you can rent row boats from the boathouse and row on the lake. again, a really pretty, surprisingly quiet place.

times square

since i’ve gotten a request for a street pic, here it is…your generic times square picture. 🙂 i’ll do some local pictures sometime later.

spam

this is a very fuzzy picture of the outside of the theatre where we saw ‘spamalot’ tonight. it was pretty darn tootin’ funny. last night we saw ‘avenue q’ which was extremely darn tootin’ funny. 🙂 two different types of funny, though so you can’t really compare.

well, that’s all for now kids…have yourselves a safe and happy evening.

oh, i also saw ’40 year-old virgin’ today, thanks to a very unpatriotic and terrorist-supporting act on the part of eric’s cousin. 😉 those darn pirates, how will the poor movie studios be able to support their families now?

weekends start on thursday here.

It’s true. There are so many more people on the streets at all times of the day starting Thursday evenings.. It’s very interesting. Now for something completely different–well, not really. I spent most of the day today doing IT consulting–it’s pretty fun, and it pays the bills. Speaking of bills, no wait, work–that’s it. I should have a full-time job starting next week. Yea! After a long day of consulting, I had a slice of pizza for dinner, then made my way to the A train–transferring from the L train on the way, to my final destination at the Golden Theatre on 45th and Broadway to see the Tony award winning musical Avenue Q. Puppets, raunchy humor, more puppets, and lots of laughs–my one line review. Next time I want to see this one.

More pictures to come… eventurally. Stay Tuned.

visitors–part deux.

I guess we forgot to update the blog yesterday. wh00ps. I’m sure people want to know how it’s going with my cousins and mom and sister here. I’ve been doing work most of the time they’ve been here, so you’ll probably be better off hearing from Candice… Jabba went over to Lorrie’s today and we picked him up at 8pm, after I met up with everybody else and we had dinner at a Chinese place in Astoria. Unfortunately, we haven’t had any time to transfer any pictures… I’m tired, so that’s all for now.
