e: Tomorrow, my mom, sister, and two cousins are coming to visit us here. We’re eagerly awaiting their arrival. Since neither Candice or I have full-time work yet, the two of us can spend some time as ‘tour-guides,’ I guess we’ll see how it goes. I have a couple options that I’m considering for work, but I should have a full-time job by next Monday.

birthday puppy!

today is jabba’s 1st birthday! we just had his little celebration. i think he had a good time. 🙂

group

here’s all of us! jabba was a little wiggle-worm for this one.

table goodies

here’s jabba’s cake and a couple of his presents. we have to spread his presents out so he won’t get confused. the frog makes croaking noises since he loves toys that talk. his cake was tasty, made with peanut butter, carrots, etc, and the frosting was whipped lot-fat cottage cheese while the filling between the layers was chicken baby food. the “1” was easy cheese while the “candle” was puperoni.

chowing down

i think he liked it. he licked his plate *clean*

no more

what, no more?

pictures for everybody!

here are lots of pics of stuff from today. included are requested pics of the granny basket. sorry for dumping so many at once!

jabba versus the lint roller

in the right corner we have jabba, weighing in at 18.4 pounds! in the left corner we have a lint roller, weighing in at 5 ounces! who will win this battle-to-the-death?! the fight everyone is talking about! only 34.95 on pay per view. order now!

my new shoes

my new shoes. jabba tried to eat one today. i think he has reached his terrible twos, or something like that.

basket

the much anticipated granny basket. here it sits in repose.

basket in full glory

the granny basket in all of her glory. only in queens can you get away with pushing something like this around town, and only if you’re over 60.

pre-birthday present

jabba’s birthday isn’t ’till the morrow, but we let him have one of his presents early. here he sits patiently (-cough-) for his squeaky hamburger.

we’re have a party for jabba tomorrow, after which i will post pics of the highlights. his cake is in the oven now.
toodles

e: well, today I did some work for this guy who found my resume on craigslist. did some other stuff too, but I’m too tired right now to talk too much about it. One of the guys who lives below us is a DJ and he wants me to visit the caffe where he spins, but unfortunately I’m too tired tonight to go. if you want to hear some of my stories, call me this weekend… ’cause I got some interesting ones. oh. I had another interview today too. I should know by Monday if I’m going to have a full-time job next week, so that’ll be nice. Goodnight and farewell all..

e: Since our part of town is kind of boring, it’s always an adventure for Candice and I when we go into the different parts of Manhatten. In just the short amount of time we’ve been here in NYC, I’ve met so many interesting people and been to so many interesting places. I wish I had time to tell about all the stuff that’s been going on lately… this is a really good change for Candice and me from the doldrums of Angwin. Moving from a town of about 2,000 people to one with over 8 million is quite a contrast. I’m loving it so far–it’s not all fun and games, but there sure is a heck of a lot of stuff to do here. Apparently, there are about over 17,000 different restaurants in New York City. So, if you at at a different restaurant for every meal of every day it would take you over 15 years to eat at all of them!
