bare walls

soooo……you know what i don’t like? bare walls, unless, of course, they have a thing going, but our don’t. they have a naked look about them. i’ve been looking on allposters.com for something to put on them, once i find a job, that is. this one is called ‘vive l’amour’ by some guy i’ve never heard of. i thought it would go nicely in the entryway. this one is called ‘vampire’ by edvard munch. i like the dark crayon-like black in it. this is probably the one i am least likely to buy. no particular reason, but it doesn’t strike me as much as the others. this one is called ‘neuschwanstein’ by andy warhol, obviously. i’m not a huge fan of warhol, but, for some reason, i really like this one. it reminds me of some flashy scene in a 70’s movie mixed with the opening sequence in ‘the shinning.’ this one is ‘reclining nude’ by amedeo modigliani. i never thought i would actually want to buy a nude painting. i admire them in museums and books, but i never thought i’d buy one. for some reason i think this one is so great, with the well-defined lines and use of color. this one is ‘kunstler and his wife’ by marc chagall. i love the heaviness of this one, with the dark, swirly, misty stuff goin’ on. this last one i totally love. it’s called ‘les amants’ by rene magritte. don’t ask me, i just love it.

yup…those are the ‘for sure’ pictures i’m going to hang. they all strike enough of a cord with me that i would like to look at them every day.

on another note, i’m back on raw, after the weekend! i missed it too much to stay away. cooked food kept making me feel gross. i never feel gross when i eat raw. yesterday i made raw apple cobbler and raw key lime pie. yum! 🙂

switching subjects again…i can’t believe i’m actually going to apply at barnes & noble. i’ve always sorta been wary of them. maybe it’s the starbucks. maybe it’s the hugeness. -shrug- i dunno. but *i need a job!* 😉

Wow on the paintings! I like the neuschwanstein the best! I like the last one the least. The scarves over their heads reminds me of the KKK. sorry;) The cobbler and keylime pie sound yummy!

i also like them all…but the one with the stuff …over heads gives me the creeps…although I do appreciate the symbolic nature of it. One could read almost anything into it, right?

I do like the nude too. I like the …well all of them but the one. Would you buy them framed or unframed?

    Love,
    Mammy

Okay, even Al wants to comment now! hehe! the pics brought him in! He wants to know what you see in the last one (scarves over heads), because it reminded him of Salem Mass. and two people headed for the gallows?! You have to remember he has been in Butte County for 10 yrs. and OK for 4 yrs! Two people without a future he says! hehe
