criss angel
two words…..frackin’ freezing.
it was unimaginably, bone-achingly cold today when i stood outside in duffy square for an hour and a half to see criss angel perform…mind you it was worth it, though. very entertaining.
i got there a half hour before it was supposed to start so i didn’t have the BEST place to stand, but not as bad as people standing on the other side of the street. if i had gotten there like 15 minutes earlier i would have gotten in the vip section…darn it!
he was late in getting started, so people were getting antsy. once he came out, it got rowdy…hehe…lots of women and girls screaming “we love you chris”, and “take it off!” here’s what he did:
he was locked in a crate, with his hands handcuffed outside and was raised into the air. he had 2 minutes to get himself out of the crate before it was dropped and smashed. unsurprisingly he made it. the crate crashed and he hopped up on top of the heineken truck with a celebratory cold one (obviously his sponsor, hence the ‘light beer’ sign on the crate…hehe). i have no idea how he got to the gound, since he wasn’t in the crate..i think that was the whole point, though. i’ll have to see it on tv. then i waited for another half hour for him to come around to my section of the crowd to sign autographs and tell us how much he loved us and appreciated our attendence, given the freezing winds. the ladies i was standing next to were very much in the midst of swooning and i have to admit i gave an excited jump and screech myself..he’s quite a cutie. i overheard the obsesive females next to me talking about how his mom and his gf? wife? never miss a performance and they were pointing them out.
anyhoo..it was fun and i’m glad i went! 🙂 thanks kit for letting me know about it! i wish we got A&E so we could watch the tv series!

didn’t i tell you!@#$!# dude the man is the shit. hopefully one day i’ll get to see him perform live somewhere. it’s almost worth a trip to vegas just to see him do one of his stunts there.
the escape sounds somewhat similiar to a wine barrel escape he did in the first season, except in this one he actually *was* inside the barrel the whole time and had to hook himself up to a harness after uncuffing himself. that was impressive enough.
it sounds like he combined it with the other trick he did in NYC where he was inside a tank in a little tube filled with air for like 48 hours solid. everybody was looking at him, bubbles fizzed up, people acted like they were trying to get him out and poof, he jumped out from behind a truck or something.
you should try netflixing the season one dvd. it’s WELL worth it.
okay enough swooning on my part. people are going to start wondering…

by the way, i think you’ve been watching far too much battlestar galactica. you just used the word “frackin'” in your blog. 😉
