things

are starting to happen here at the zereps as eric and myself come out of what must have been our spring break mode. nothing huge and exciting, but better than nothing. 🙂

last night eric and i drove to denver to see dj shadow perform at the ogden theater. i was reluctant to go at first, since i have to much stuff to do here at home, but i’m glad i went. the drive down was fairly uneventful and we found parking easily enough. the neighborhood that the theater is located in is pretty cool. it’s all big ’20s houses-meets downtown. we stood in line *forever* because the tickets were misprinted and because dj shadow himself was late. the show eventually opened with ‘the lifesavers’, who are on dj shadow’s label. they were good…hip-hoppy and kinda rappy. there was a special guest rapper during shadow’s performance, the gift of gab. he was pretty slick, too. anyhoo..it was lots of fun 😀 thanks eric for making me go!

in other news, our lawn has become a jungle! today i went to home depot and got a lawnmower…hooray!!! and not just any polluting, fossil-fuel dependent, noise-pollutant mower, but a cute, quiet little scotts 16″ cut reel mower. i’ve already done the front lawns and it’s actually kinda fun! it’s easy to push, too. well, easy to push over grass that’s not the amazon. i have to go over high spots several times, but it’s a breeze over regular grass. the backyard is going to be fun though. the grass comes to jabba’s neck in some spots. and i’m kinda starting to like the meadow feel the backyard is adapting. plus it’s producing oxygen! anyhoo….if i mow ever 2-3 weeks it’ll work out great. i recommend it!

oh, and pictures of our new table soon, i have to show it off after all that work i put into it! plus i’ll show you pics of our dirt and weed patch i’m trying to convert into a garden. i pulled like 100 pounds of weeds last week and then tilled it all by hand with my trusty gardenclaw. we’ll see how it develops this week.

and there will be pics of leia and jabba, too, of course. she’s getting so big! where did our little puglet go?

Maybe it was our push mower, but I loathed the thing.

Well you must be commended for the effort! Since I don’t want a heart-attack I think I will keep my gas-powered lawn mower! hehe and at 51 a body likes it to be self-propelled! 1 gallon of gas lasts me 3 months so not bad! Waiting for pictures!!
