Feliz Año Nuevo

January 2, 2006 - 1:16 am 1 Comment

Well, it’s the year two-thousand and six now. Does anybody have any good New Year’s resolutions to share? This was the first time since 1994 I believe that Christmas and New Year’s Day ended up falling on Sundays. I’m just glad my company (along with most others) was kind enough to give us Monday the 2nd off from work. Hurray! I have one goal for tomorrow–finish Half-Life 2. I’ve been playing it on and off since November 2004 when it came out and I still haven’t finished it yet! With my new GeForce 6800 Ultra video card it looks very nice and runs quite speedy (thanks mom!)

I made a few little tweaks and changes to the site today–spent a couple hours on them actually, so see if you notice anything that’s new or different. enjoy! šŸ™‚

If you check out the Freezepeach Webcam from 8am-12pm EST (that’s 5am to 9am for you West-coast types) you might catch a glimpse of Candice doing her barista-type duties. šŸ™‚

Or, if you’re really lucky, you can catch some interesting shots like this one:
Matt in Repose

…I call it ‘Matt, in repose.’

100th Post!

December 30, 2005 - 12:10 am 3 Comments

Hurray! This is my 100th post on our blog. Actually, now that I think about it, that doesn’t seem like very many. It’s been about 6 months since we started this blog, so that averages out to about 1 post every other day, I think.

Here are a few statistics about our site since we started it in July 2005:

We’ve gotten about:
-Over 600 unique IPs visiting per month
-100 views per day
-Over 14,600 visits in total
-1.2 gigabytes of traffic

…that makes us like the 17,239,3842nd most popular site on the internet! j/k šŸ˜‰

A new little new thing that I added was an ‘author’ tag under the title of the post so it’s clear who wrote each entry. Now if I can just muster enough time and bravery to upgrade to WordPress 2.0

this isn’t just soap–it’s super-soap!

Check it out… I haven’t tried it yet, but it looks pretty cool: Steel Soap

Get it–super-soap, man of steel.. soap made of steel. Nevermind.

worst christmas *ever*!

December 26, 2005 - 2:47 pm 2 Comments

just kidding! i just felt like saying that. šŸ™‚ hehe….christmas was nice, don’t worry!

hm….what did we do for christmas eve…..trying to remember…….i think we watched some x-files and then eric fell dead asleep at like 9.30. christmas day was nice, though. we opened our little gift pile under the tree. we would have had no gift pile if it weren’t for cindy, my mom and al, and my grandparents, so thank you šŸ™‚ i got some very nice fuzzy shearling slippers (with memory foam padding) from my mom ’cause my feet always hurt. eric got some fun stuff, like a chia herb garden from me :), and some stuff off of his list from various parties. we ate yummy candy from my grandparents (thank you!) and they included jabba, too, with a nice bag of doggie treats, which he loves.

we watched ‘a christmas story’ over lunch and then went to see ‘king kong’ in the evening. unfortunatly, after trudging a mile in the pouring rain and cold, ‘king kong’ was sold out. so i was thus able to see ‘the family stone’ with eric, as opposed to by myself. šŸ˜‰ i liked it and teared up in a couple spots. eric thought it was okay for what he calls ‘a formula movie’. i didn’t think it would be so sad, though, but it made for a better, more rounded, more true-to-life story, at least i thought so.

for christmas dinner we stopped by a chinese take-out place to grab dinner on our trudge home, through the rain again. it was yummy! i rate it two chopsticks up!

here’s some picture highlights of the last couple days.

this here is what christmas eve looked like at our place. hehe…

oh! this morning was also my first training day at my new job. šŸ™‚ finally! a job! it’s part-time in the mornings at freezepeach cafe (link on right side of page). i’m a barista-in-training all this week and you can check their webcams to see me from 8 am to 12 pm. since today was my first day, i’m still very confused when it comes to making coffee, frothing milk, using the register, and keeping track of orders, but i hope that i’ll get better eventually. it’s just nice to have a job. and it’s not an uptight office job! yay! šŸ™‚

okay okay :)

eric’s birthday

December 22, 2005 - 10:53 am 1 Comment

as eric already mentioned, yesterday was his birthday and our anniversary. lucky for eric the transit strike was still going on so he could spend it at home, even if he was working. i made him a birthday breakfast of waffles with strawberries and whipped cream and blueberry muffins. he said he liked it. šŸ™‚ then he finally got to open his birthday presents, which he’d been pestering me about for several days. (he wanted to open them all the night before, he even made me stay up to midnight, his birthday, to open one early) my mom had gotten him a zero blaster, which shoots rings of fog. it was really cool and jabba loved it! šŸ™‚ in the afternoon i made him a birthday carrot cake, which he also admited to liking. šŸ™‚

here’s eric with his fog blaster, which has a handy blue LED light at the end and super cool ray gun sound effects.

as soon as eric started shooting rings, jabba kept trying to eat them. this is an action shot and you can’t quite see the ring, but it’s there and jabba ate it!

here’s eric’s carrot cake. it was pretty tasty, even to me and i hate carrot cakes. go foodnetwork.com!

and last of all, here’s jabba, laying on a pile of eric’s clean socks. he LOVES to lay on socks. is it just me, or does jabba look fat in this picture? huh…i swear he’s not! he’s super spry! even the doctor said so! šŸ™‚ just look at that action shot up there!

new domain/b-day/anniversary

well. as most of you know, you can reach our little blog here by going to https://www.thezereps.com or http://www.ericperez.com, but now you have a third choice (and why not!) try us at http://www.candiceperez.com. Maybe eventually we’ll put some seperate stuff up on each of the domains, but for now the all point to the same place.

Candice and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary today, while I simultaneously celebrated turning a quarter-century old. Thanks to everybody for the phone calls, emails, etc.
