Candice and I are at our final destination before we hit NYC. We are currently at the Super 8 motel in Harrisville, PA… but it’s not really in Harrisville, it’s in a place called Barkeyville… weird. What they told us was that Harrisville was not big enough to have a post office, so that’s why their mailing address is different from their physical location. But it’s the mailing address that is posted on the web site. That made it kind of confusing to find. Anyway.. We ordered pizza to our room again… only they took an hour to deliver it.. 🙁
Tomorrow we have to get up earlier than we have been lately. We’re shooting to by in NYC around 3-4pm (eastern time.) Basically our drive consists of about 300 miles through Pennsylvania and about 50 through New Jersey and New York.
By the way… we found that we liked driving in some states a lot more than others. Here is our list of thumbs up states and thumbs down states.
Thumbs up:
-California (Losta traffic, but that’s where we’re from, so we gotta love it)
-Utah (It’s really pretty around Salt Lake City even though the lake stinks)
-Wyoming, Nebraska (farmland forever but an easy fast drive without much traffic)
-Iowa (I really like Des Moines. It was clean, but modern)
Thumbs down:
-Nevada (boring desert.. what else is there to say?)
-Illinois (traffic around Chicago is horrible!)
-Indiana (truck drivers around here don’t know how to drive)
-Ohio (The worst! Bad drivers AND they have toll roads everywhere. It cost us about 9 dollars just to drive through Ohio!)
By the way… Cingular lies about their coverage areas. According to the coverage map on their web site, they have coverage all across i-80 from coast to coast, but it is far from that. In Wyoming, we didn’t have coverage at all for several hundred miles.
Hopefully we’ll have some more pictures up soon.. Unfortunately, today’s drive was pretty boring.. We didn’t even stop anywhere that was interesting, so it will probably just be more pictures that we took of the dog. 😉

i forgot to comment on the pics eric posted last night. there were two things on this trip i was looking foward to seeing, one was the continental divide and the other was the mississippi. neither of those two landmarks had any sort of stop at them! i really wanted to see the divide but all we saw was a sign, same for the river…oh well…:)
oh yeah, jabba has taken to life on the road quite well! he loves camping in the little cabins and all the ‘smells’ of hotel rooms…hehe…he also loves to get hair all over the car and he especially loves to sneeze boogers on us in the car 🙂
gotta go! we’re getting a late start today!

As Candice mentioned before, we’re at the KOA Kampground in Granger, IN. 430 mile trip today. Only two days on the road left for us… and luckily for us they’re relatively shorter.. 350 miles each. We should reach New York City by around 4pm on Saturday. Candice shrunk down some more pictures that we’ve taken. Here is the link:

well, tonight we’re in grainger indiana at another koa kampground. we got another kabin, which is really cute. this one has a/c which is great. we have a fire too and have popped jiffy pop and roasted mallows.
traffic is starting to pick up. i-80 through chicago is absolutely horrible! we almost crashed like 3 times! the construction is the worst i’ve seen, as well as the road signs….geez…
the campground here is really cute and i love the free wireless in the laundry room.
eric and i have a great new idea that hit us somewhere accross wyoming. it would totally revolutionize american culture. all we would need is grass roots vigilantes who hate wal-mart…sorta like the group in ’12 monkeys.’ they would take out each wal-mart big-rig and take out supply lines. then work towards somehow targeting stores at night so no one would be in them. 🙂 then everyone would have to shop at target, which is good for the economy. 🙂
anyhoo…i’m tired of sitting in the laundry room. eric will upload more pics tonight sometime.
toodles…

We’re currently in Iowa at another rest stop with wireless internet access. We’ve uploaded some more pictures (and thanks to the .htaccess tips you can now see them as they are listed in the directory.)
Tonight we stay at a kabin at a KOA in Granger, IN… We have about a 430 mile trip today. Thanks for looking and we appreciate your comments!

This is pretty cool. We’re currently at a rest-stop on i-80 and they have free internet access…. how cool is that? Anyway.. we’re off to our next hotel in Des Moines, IA. Unforunately, they don’t have any internet access there, so we can’t post any of the new pictures that we’ve taken unless we can find a dial-up number or something. oh! I forgot.. Thanks Chantel for the iTrip for the iPOD. it work’s pretty well for us because we’re driving through the middle of nowhere in wyoming and nebraska, so there aren’y many radio stations! it would be a pretty boring drive without it. More pictures coming up tomorrow.. we’ll be camping in Granger, Indiana. (they have wireless internet at the KOA there….)

If you’re ever travelling in Wyoming on interstate-80 we have some tasty food stop suggestions for you. First of all, there is this place called Taco Johns. It’s kinda like taco bell, but waaaaay better.
And, if by chance you ever stay at the Super 8 Motel in North Platte, Nebraska (our current domocile) we highly suggest Twin Dragon chinese food–they deliver to the hotel and it’s really tasty food!
Anyway.. today was our longest drive. 480 miles from Rock Springs, Wy to North Platte, Ne. MapQuest directions for our drive today
472 miles straight on i-80
Tomorrow should be a little easier.. only 400 miles. I’m pretty tired right now, so I guess I’ll go to bed now. We might not have any internet access tomorrow, so I’m trying to make the most of it right now. ‘nite.
