eric and i had a splendid time today. we actually managed to drag our sorry butts out of the house at 9.30 this morning! ::gasp:: we decided to just go to lexington avenue and pop in and out of stores, just for the heck of it. i was in search of a certain dog collar in green or orange, but the little pet boutiques i went to didn’t have them. 🙁 we did see some cute puppies jumping and wrassling in the pet store windows. they’re so cute! poor little guys, stuck there in a window. it makes me want to buy them all just to save them! anyhoo…up the street a bit we stopped by pylones, which is a super cute and fun store filled with so many cute things you’ll wish you could buy the whole store. since i was only carrying so much money on me, i opted to buy a tea spoon. i’ve been lusting after one of these babies ever since i read the little blurb about it on popgadget.net. i got the brown one and can’t wait to try it out tonight. i think i’ll make my vanilla/hops combo..it’s SOOOO good!

anyhoo…eric and i went our seperate ways for the next 45 minutes. he to amble around, waiting for somebody famous to hop out of some black, washington-licensed suburbans, and me to you & i, a cute little store with lots of jewelry. we then met up again at h&m to buy stuff, duh. 🙂

for lunch we went to california pizza kitchen. eventhough we live in new york and should be eating some of the best pizza in the country, we’ve been craving cali pizza lately. we totally didn’t know that they had a chain here, but they do! 🙂 however…..something was seriously wrong…..those of you who have patronized CPK in cali know that it’s generally not a mayhem inducing environment. not so in new york. it was a MAD HOUSE. aparently it’s THE place to come if you have 2 or more screeming kids, ’cause seriously…..80% of the patrons were noisy families….it was like chucky cheese with gourmet pizza. it just felt wrong…but the food was oh so yummy! our tummies couldn’t hear the noise, and thus were completely happy. 🙂 after we ate, we came home, with several stops including a japanese market for prepackaged miso soup, and then the thrift store. now it’s home sweet home. 🙂 ou puppy was very happy to see us, as usual. 🙂

oh, and here is a random picture of eric and i waiting for the train at broadway. i’m sorry you can’t see anything but us!

have a super duper weekend!

no pictures

unfortunately we have no clear pictoral evidence of marc and shannon’s visitation. eric snapped a few pics, but they were all fuzzy. the only clear picture was of eric in his dorky, “3-D” glasses sitting next to marc on the couch. marc and shannon took lots of pictures while they were here, but, alas, they are not on my computer. it was great having them. thanks for coming guys! i hope you had an enjoyable time. now it’s time for even more people to visit us! 🙂

so yeah…i like working in the cafe alot. i love making yummy tea and coffee beverages for people. soy una barista! 🙂 we’ve been watchin’ a bunch of x-files lately, too. but we’ve run out! we have yet to see season 8 and 9. tonight we’re gonna watch ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie’. can you believe it?! eric has never seen it!!! ::gasp:: a classic! we watched ‘Sid and Nancy’ while marc and shannon were here, but it was my pick, and i don’t think it was a success with the other 3 people watching it. 😉 i liked it though! gary oldman as sid vicious was super cute and the chick who played nancy kinda reminded me of miss piggy. must have been the hair and voice. 🙂

i’m also trying to make up my mind about what i want to do next. it’s between pursuing nursing to become an RN or getting my master’s in library science. both take 2 years to complete, which isn’t bad. both interest me, too, so it’s been hard to make a final decision. i really want to do both!!!! i will eventually post my final decision, though!

anyhoo…have a super thursday and friday everybody!

Really bad computer science joke.

Q: Why do geeks confuse Christmas and Halloween?

A: Because 31 OCT = 25 DEC

Dug that one up from a mozilla forum and thought it was too bad to pass up. Don’t get it? Try reading this or this and try again. 😉

Alan Wake

Has anybody seen this yet–Alan Wake? It’s a game that’s coming out sometime this year for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. I looks really cool–the graphics in the trailers are amazing. One of the cool thing it has is realistic day/night time shadows/hues depending on what time of day it is. Here are some screenshots: 1 2 3 4. Pretty soon computer graphics will be almost indistinguishable from real life–well, almost. Now all they need is to invent more involving technologies to ‘put you in the game.’

If anybody wants to buy me an Athlon 64 4800+ processor, 2 GeForce7800GTX video cards, 2GB RAM, and a 24″ widescreen LCD for my computer I would not complain. 😉

Acidophilus

how many domain names can you have that all point to the same place? I’m currently testing that theory and will get back to you on that one, but I’ve added my latest acquistion to the pile of names that already point to this site. You can now reach us at my alter-ego DNS representation at: http://asiclipt.us

Anybody who’s known me for any amount of time should recognize that name–I use it for a lot of my online screennames. I know its easy to make fun of, but it’s very unique and I doubt anybody else in the world has ever come up with that name for anything before. BTW, happy friday the 13th. 😉

This week is finally over. And luckily for me, Monday is a holiday, so that means no work until Tuesday–hurray! Shannon and Marc are still here on their visit. Today they went and saw The Met and the American Museum of the Moving Image (one of my favorites.) There’s so much stuff to do in the city here, but Candice and I never go out and do ‘touristy’ things like museums or tours or anytyhing like that. Hopefully, that will change in the future. It’s going to rain here tomorrow (since we’ve been having a warm spell lately,) but then on Sunday, it might snow because the temp’s going to drop to the low 30s and upper 20s. yeah 🙂

..that is, Shannon and Marc, have been here for a couple days now. I think they’ve been enjoying themselves. I don’t get to do too much stuff with them during the day because I’m at work. But yesterday was an exception. Candice and them came over to Union Square (just a couple blocks from my work) on the subway and we all went out to Indian Food for lunch. There’s this really excellent Indian restaurant that has a lunch buffet, so you can try new things that you can’t even pronounce. 😉 Last night we didn’t do anything too excitint–an episode of X-files and some videogame playing. Hopefully we’ll have some pictures to prove they were actually here soon.
