are starting to happen here at the zereps as eric and myself come out of what must have been our spring break mode. nothing huge and exciting, but better than nothing. 🙂
last night eric and i drove to denver to see dj shadow perform at the ogden theater. i was reluctant to go at first, since i have to much stuff to do here at home, but i’m glad i went. the drive down was fairly uneventful and we found parking easily enough. the neighborhood that the theater is located in is pretty cool. it’s all big ’20s houses-meets downtown. we stood in line *forever* because the tickets were misprinted and because dj shadow himself was late. the show eventually opened with ‘the lifesavers’, who are on dj shadow’s label. they were good…hip-hoppy and kinda rappy. there was a special guest rapper during shadow’s performance, the gift of gab. he was pretty slick, too. anyhoo..it was lots of fun 😀 thanks eric for making me go!
in other news, our lawn has become a jungle! today i went to home depot and got a lawnmower…hooray!!! and not just any polluting, fossil-fuel dependent, noise-pollutant mower, but a cute, quiet little scotts 16″ cut reel mower. i’ve already done the front lawns and it’s actually kinda fun! it’s easy to push, too. well, easy to push over grass that’s not the amazon. i have to go over high spots several times, but it’s a breeze over regular grass. the backyard is going to be fun though. the grass comes to jabba’s neck in some spots. and i’m kinda starting to like the meadow feel the backyard is adapting. plus it’s producing oxygen! anyhoo….if i mow ever 2-3 weeks it’ll work out great. i recommend it!
oh, and pictures of our new table soon, i have to show it off after all that work i put into it! plus i’ll show you pics of our dirt and weed patch i’m trying to convert into a garden. i pulled like 100 pounds of weeds last week and then tilled it all by hand with my trusty gardenclaw. we’ll see how it develops this week.
and there will be pics of leia and jabba, too, of course. she’s getting so big! where did our little puglet go?

I guess they unveiled them a couple weeks ago at the 2007 NY International Auto Show at the Javitts Center in NYC (the same auto show I went to last year (pics) Too bad I missed it this year. d’oh!) but I didn’t see them until today.
Anyway. here they are… check ’em out on the official site:
–2008 Subaru Impreza WRX
–2008 Subaru Impreza 2.5i (mine is the 2007 version of this.)
–2008 Subaru Tribeca
I think the new WRX/Impreza wagons looks pretty cool. Very compact and sleek. I’m not so thrilled about the Sedan’s though. I don’t like the body style accents as much as the 2007 line or the way the front grills look. The engine on the Impreza has a couple fewer Horsies too, but it does have the sport-shift transmission (something I wish mine had.) Sorry to bore all you non-subi owners.. ya know: it’s never to late to get one. ;) REAL updates coming soon.. (I promise.)

i just wanted to let people know that eric and i are indeed alive and well. and we haven’t won the lottery and fled the continent with our millions. we’ve just been lazy. 🙂 we have pictures and events to post about, but it just hasn’t materialized yet. sorry!
let’s see…my birthday was nice. um…i’m building a table…um….eric is fine…..so are jabba and leia….weather is nice…..had a windy night about a week ago that threw our swing across the yard…um….can’t figure out how to turn on our sprinklers….um…..thrift shopping is fun….er……weeding isn’t…..um….that about sums it up! 😀
have a pleasant day!

well folks…the weather sure has taken a turn for the better lately. it’s been sunny and around 70 degrees. our lawn is even in the process of turning green. alot of our other neighbors here in suburbia have had their lawns aerated…maybe if i walk around in homemade golf shoes it will do the same thing? we’ll see….
anyhoo…several weekends ago we went in search of patio furniture. we found LOTS that we liked, but seeing as we need to spend some moolah on more patio pavers to even have a useable patio, we opted for a wal-mart sale lawn swing. 🙂
here’s what it looked like when shawn set it up, note: this is a stock photo from wal-mart, not our real backyard:

i wasn’t real happy with the color scheme so i painted the frame black, and reupholstered the cushion/swing. and thanks to an early birthday present from my mom, we also have a bbq! here come bbq tofu dogs and grillers!
here’s eric setting it up:

and here’s the swing all spruced up!

the pups are sure enjoying all the extra time outside. jabba in particular! he likes to just lay on the lawn and sunbath. unfortunately, leia has to be VERY well supervised because she puts everything in her mouth.

as you can see, we have a lot of pebbles in the yard. we’re going to relocate some to make our patio bigger, eventually. and try to make it a bit more homey. flowers especially. and hopefully a gazebo because we get so much hot hot sun and a gazebo is cheaper than trees. 🙂
anyhoo…that’s all folks!

wow…it has been a while since either eric or myself updated! we’ve been a little on the busy side lately, plus the weather has been really nice here, AND my brother, shawn, was visiting us!
we did lots of fun stuff while he was here. i dragged him shopping, we went to the sterling hotel (the ‘shinning hotel’), went snowboarding, and went to golden, co, among other things. unfortunately i forgot my camera when we went to the snow, so no pics! jabba and leia also enjoyed his visit, the more people to play with, the better! hopefully he’ll visit again in the summer when we can go hiking and fishing! (yes, i want to get my fishing license..it would be fun!)
here’s shawn outside of the stanley hotel, a.k.a. the shinning hotel. we got a different tour guide this time who took us to old underground tunnels and fun stuff like that.

yesterday eric, shawn and myself all trekked out to golden, colorado to tour the coors brewery. it was actually very interesting, as well as fun. and the town of golden is really pretty…nestled in a little valley.

the room featured in this little video clip smelled like malt-o-meal, which i happen to like alot. this was from part of our tour.

i wish i had taken more pictures, but i seem to forget when i’m actually doing something interesting!
all in all, we had a great time while shawn was here….come back soon! we miss you already! 😀

ok…time to show more pictures of our new puglet! jabba and leia have been getting along quite well. they both love to wrestle like crazy and eat just as crazily. oh, and now we have 2 snoring pugs during nap time!
here they are playing!

here’s how we’ve been taking walks lately. leia doesn’t have all her shots since she’s so little, so i carry her in a purse so she can get some fresh air and hear all the rowdy neighborhood dogs. jabba’s always ready for a nice long walk, barking dogs or no.

oh, and i spruced up a collar for her. no use spending tons on something she’s just going to outgrow in a month. jabba would kill me if i put ribbon on his collar.

ok ok! enough pug pics…they DO have their own site.
and i have finally embraced a trend i always secretly loathed and scoffed at….crocs. but at least my feet are happy….oooohhhh…..sooooo haaaapppyyyy….. 😀
